Dan Putler
CHIEF SCIENTIST
Dan Putler is The Public Health Company’s Chief Scientist. Prior to joining PHC he was Alteryx’s (NYSE: AYX) Chief Data Scientist. Putler played a number of roles at Alteryx, including being responsible for developing and implementing the product road map for Alteryx’s first generation, R based, predictive analytics tools. He also worked extensively with Alteryx customers to develop solutions that require the development of new advanced analytical methodologies. He has over 35 years of experience in developing models for companies and organizations that cover a large number of industry verticals, ranging from the performing arts to B2B financial services to manufacturing supply chains. These models have looked at phenomena ranging from hurricanes to US Presidential elections to physician opioid prescribing behavior. He is co-author of the book Customer and Business Analytics: Applied Data Mining for Business Decision Making Using R, which is published by Chapman and Hall / CRC Press. Prior to becoming an analytics leader in technology companies, Putler was a professor of marketing and marketing research at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business and Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management. He earned both his Ph.D. and B.S. from UC Berkeley’s Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
